Jimmy was introduced to tabletop RPGs in 1980. Having shown an interest in reading fantasy-based stories such as the Narnia chronicles and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, his mother gave him a book titled “Quag Keep”, written by her favorite author, Andre Norton. The book’s storyline was based around a game known as Dungeon and Dragons. He immediately wanted to learn more the game and soon found others with the same interest. It didn’t take long before he had books, miniatures and dice. Needless to say, he was hooked.
Which brings us to the present, where he owns, manages, and participates in a community of like-minded individuals that want to explore their passion for TTRPG gaming. He took all of his years of working in the technology sector and collaborative story-telling and built a community upon what he loved. He then found a place to showcase the fruit of his labor and opened it up to others.
The community of Praetor’s Rejects was born.
Along with Matt “K.C” Everhart, Jimmy created a video production company, Praetor’s and Rifts Astral Menagerie. Its purpose: to help develop and showcase virtual gaming for RPG game conventions. Their client base includes GaryCon, GameHole Con, GenCon, Tsunami Con, and Mid-West Gaming Fest.
Jimmy also produces live RPG video streams for several well known industry professionals and dignitaries. He worked with Satine Phoenix and Jamison Stone to help bring their Kickstater project, “Sirens – Battle of the Bards,” to their large fanbase. Just recently, he produced several sessions of Actoroke, Peter Adkison’s RPG fantasy game, which showcases on Guilding Light’s Twitch channel and will be presented “live, on-stage” at GenCon 2021. Praetor’s and Rifts has produced similar online events, such as Luke Gygax’s Founder’s and Legends, which included sessions from Stefan Pokorny (Dwarvenforge), Jason Charles Miller (Gaxx Paxx), and Mike Mearls (W.O.T.C.).
